A Marion County man, 41-year-old Jason Cockerham of Oakland, has been sentenced to seven years supervised probation on felony charges of criminal mischief and theft of property following a negotiated plea in Marion County Circuit Court. Cockerham was also ordered to pay $9,654 in fines and restitution.
According to the probable cause affidavit, the charges stem from an incident in January when a Marion County sheriff’s deputy responded to an incident on Highway 62B in Flippin involving past renters. The officer learned Cockerham was one of two individuals who had been staying at the rental property. He was advised the duo had left owing rent and had damaged property.
In addition, items valued at $1,629 were reportedly taken from the rental property.
