KTLO, Classic Hits and The Boot are celebrating a milestone this month. It was 65 years ago when KTLO-AM 1240 first went on the air, and general manager and co-owner Bob Knight has been here for nearly the last 48 years.
Knight began working at KTLO in 1970 and has been with the station ever since. Though he’s the current general manager, Knight started out doing a bit of everything at the station, including news, weather and sports.
Since he first started in radio, Knight says Mountain Home has seen tremendous growth.

When asked about his most fond memory of the station, Knight recounted a time he shared with the station’s retired news director, Jim Bodenhamer.

From its humble beginnings in 1953, KTLO has grown into four stations, including KTLO-FM 97.9, KTLO-AM 1240, KCTT Classic Hits 101.7, and KBOD 99.7 The Boot. In addition to the four stations, ktlo.com offers streaming of all four stations, news coverage, podcasts of shows, and much more.
A photo gallery featuring pictures from years’ past, as well as current staff pictures, will be featured on the website to celebrate the station’s 65th birthday. The album can be viewed online at ktlo.com.
Those wishing to contribute their own memories of KTLO can do so by visiting the online gallery or by stopping by the station, located at 620 Highway 5 North in Mountain Home.
KTLO, Classic Hits, and The Boot thanks its listeners for 65 years of continued love and support.
