“I will always love you!, La Toya tweeted. “You gave us strength, you made us one of the most famous families in the world. I am extremely appreciative of that, I will never forget our moments together and how you told me how much you cared. #RIP Joe Jackson.”

La Toya also posted a clip of herself having lunch with her father in a 2013 segment of her OWN series, Life with La Toya. In the video, La Toya praised her father for developing the musical talents of her brothers.

“I remember being a little girl and how hard you worked the brothers and Michael,” she said. “I know that you did a lot making sure that they brought out their talent…they would never know they had that talent today if it wasn’t for you.”

Her father responded, “One thing about Michael. I miss him so much. Every store I go into, if I am there a while, he’s gonna start singing [on the sound system], everywhere I go.”

La Toya also recalled that Michael and her brothers were inspired by their father to paint.

“I remember being young, they used to paint these pictures of leaves. Do you remember this?” she asked Joe.

Her father replied, “[Michael] was great. He did a lot of painting. I didn’t even know about.”

La Toya added, “I used to always say he got that from Joseph.” Her father agreed.
