Already one of Weezer’s harder-rocking songs, Toto added an extra level of heavy to “Hash Pipe” thanks to their dual drummers and the guitar work of Steve Lukather. You can watch fan-shot footage of the performance on YouTube.

Weezer released their version of “Africa” in May following a long-running fan campaign trying to convince the band to cover the much-memed ’80s hit. Last month, they performed “Africa” on ABC’s Jimmy Kimmel Live! with a guest appearance from Toto keyboardist Steve Porcaro.

Toto’s cover of “Hash Pipe” will officially be released on August 10. The Vancouver concert marked the kickoff of the North American leg of the band’s “40 Trips Around the Sun” tour, which celebrates Toto’s 40th anniversary.
