The 10-piece Bay Area outfit is currently performing in the U.S., and has dates stretching from a show tonight in Beaver Creek, Colorado, all the way through a four-night, November 29-December 2 stand in Honolulu.

Tower of Power’s also promoting its 25th studio album, Soul Side of Town, which was released in June. Available on CD, as a two-LP vinyl set and digitally, the 14-track record finds the band delivering a collection of original tunes that blend soul, vintage R&B, funk, pop and rock.

The band scored a trio of top 30 hits during early 1970s: 1972’s “You’re Still a Young Man,” 1973’s “So Very Hard to Go” and 1974’s “Don’t Change Horses (in the Middle of a Stream).” Meanwhile, the Tower of Power horn section has collaborated with a jaw-dropping list of artists over the years, including Elton John, Santana, Rod Stewart, Smokey Robinson, Neil Diamond, Aerosmith, Heart, Sammy Hagar, Peter Frampton, Rufus featuring Chaka Khan, Dionne Warwick, Rick James, Huey Lewis & The News, Toto, Little Feat and Bonnie Raitt.
