After a day off Thursday, the St. Louis Cardinals return to action Friday night at home with the beginning of a three-game weekend series against San Francisco. The Cardinals trail the Cubs by 5 1/2 games in the National League Central but they lead the Rockies by 1 1/2 games for the final wildcard spot in the National League.
John Gant (7-6) starts for the Cardinals Friday night while Madison Bumgarner (6-6) goes for the Giants.
Game time is 7:15 with the pre-game at 6:20 on KTLO-AM.
