An Ozark County man was injured in a one-vehicle accident Sunday morning in Midway. According to a Baxter County Sheriff’s Office report, 51-year-old Randy Fowler of Bakersfield was transported to Baxter Regional Medical Center from the scene on the east side of Arkansas Highway 5 North.

Fowler was traveling on Arkansas Highway 178 West toward Highway 5 when his vehicle failed to stop at the stop sign at the intersection and drove straight across the ditch to the east side of the highway. The vehicle rolled completely over once before coming to rest on all four wheels facing west. Fowler told authorities his accelerator stuck, and he was unable to stop even though he shut his vehicle off. The roadway contained approximately 100 feet of skid marks.

Damage to Fowler’s vehicle was estimated at $4,000 in the 6:59 a.m. accident.
