
The Arkansas Department of Education has released its 2018 Every Student Succeeds Act (ESSA) Index and Accountability At-A-Glance reports for all 1,034 public schools in the state. Data from the 2017-2018 school year is included in the report. A total of 152 schools received A grades, 313 were given a B, C grades went to 380 schools, 145 schools received a D, and 44 were given an F.
In Baxter County, all six schools in the Mountain Home School District received a B grade from the Department of Education. Norfork High School was given an A, and a B grade went to Arrie Goforth Elementary School. At Cotter, Amanda Gist Elementary School received a B, and Cotter High School was given a C.
In Marion County, Flippin Middle School had the district’s highest mark with a B grade. Flippin High and Elementary Schools each received a C. Yellville-Summit Elementary School was given a B, and the high school ended up with a C grade.
In the Ozark Mountain School District, Bruno-Pyatt and Western Grove both received a B grade. St. Joe had the district’s highest grade with an A.
In Fulton County, Viola High School received an A, and the elementary school was given a B. Both schools in the Salem School District have an A grade, both of Mammoth Spring’s schools ended up with a B.
In Izard County, B grades were handed out to both schools in the Calico Rock School District. Izard County Middle School was given a B, and the high and elementary schools each received a C. Both schools in the Melbourne School District were given an A.
Marshall Elementary School had the highest grade in the Searcy County School District with an A. Marshall High and Leslie Intermediate Schools were each given a B.
In Stone County, Timbo and Rural Special High Schools topped the Mountain View School District with an A grade. Timbo Elementary, Rural Special Elementary and all campuses in Mountain View received a B.
In the Harrison School District, A grades were given to Harrison Middle, Eagle Heights Elementary, Forest Heights Elementary and Skyline Heights Elementary Schools. Harrison High and Woodland Heights Elementary Schools each received a B.
Elswhere in Boone County, Lead Hill High School was given a B, and the elementary school received a C. The Bergman School District’s highest grade was an A for the middle school, and the high and elementary schools ended up with a B. Valley Springs Elementary and Middle Schools each received an A, and the high school was given a B. Omaha High School ended up with a B, and the elementary school was given a C grade.
In Newton County, Jasper High School received a C. Jasper Elementary School had the lowest grade among area schools with a D.
