
The Mountain Home High School cross country teams brought home a pair of first place trophies from the 5A East Conference meet held Tuesday in Jonesboro.
The Lady Bombers had the closest race of the day, edging out second place Jonesboro by just 7 points. Marcie Cudworth led the way with a 2nd place finish, Rylee Patterson was 4th, Kalee Daniel finished 5th, Victoria Strange was 8th and Shelbie Kelly finished 10th. All five of those runners earned first-team all-conference honors.
The Mountain Home boys dominated their race with 6 runners in the top 10. Whit Lawrence won the individual conference championship by crossing the finish line first, Andrew Westphal was 3rd, Bob Allen finished 5th, Jacob Pyeatt was 8th, Tyler Firment finished 9th and Xander Towne was 10th. All six runners earned first-team all-conference honors.
The Mountain Home cross country teams will now compete in the Class 5A State meet November 2nd at Oaklawn Park in Hot Springs.
