Mountain Home native Scott Hoffmann has helped two local artists as they compete for a Grammy award on what’s billed as music’s biggest night. Hoffmann, producer for Subterra Music Studio of Harrison, produced, engineered and mixed both projects, as well as playing guitar, bass and drums.
Local Harrison band White Fox Kill makes the ballot twice, with its debut album titled “Once Upon a Give a Damn.” The group is being considered for nomination for Best Rock Performance and Album of the Year. Band members are brothers Shane and Dakota Quenzer, Jim Smith and Garrett Jones. The record is in the rock category, but the music was influenced by many artists the band loves, from Bob Dylan, Townes Van Zant to Johnny Cash and Kurt Cobain.

Hoffmann also produced a single for Tammy Joplin of Branson. Her original song is titled “Color Me Beautiful.” Joplin is being considered for nomination in the Best Gospel Performance category.

Joplin is a cousin to the late Janis Joplin.

Hoffmann was part of a Grammy winning audio team in 1999. He has been a voting member since 2004.
