The Arkansas State Highway Commission has approved a bid for improvements to a highway in Izard County. According to the Arkansas Department of Transportation (ArDOT), a bridge structure will be replaced with a concrete box culvert over Little Brushy Creek on Arkansas Highway 223.
The contract was awarded to R.L. Persons Construction, Inc., of Poplar Bluff, Missouri, for a cost of $1,910,640. Construction is scheduled to begin in two to four weeks, weather permitting, and completion is expected in late 2019.
