A Mountain Home woman was sentenced to six years probation and ordered to spend a year in an addiction treatment program at one of the Community Correction Centers in the state after pleading guilty to drug-related charges during a session of Baxter County Circuit Court Thursday.

Thirty-four-year-old Jessica Shafer was arrested in mid-July when a Mountain Home policeman stopped the vehicle in which she was a passenger for a traffic violation.

During a search of the vehicle, the officer located a small plastic bag containing a white crystalline substance testing positive for methamphetamine.

Shafer is alleged to have admitted the substance belonged to her, as did a metal smoking device with marijuana residue also found in the vehicle.
