Hackler teacher receives award

Hackler Intermediate School third grade teacher Mariah Kohler has been selected as the winner of a $500 award from Arvest Bank. Kohler’s award is one of 116 totaling $58,000 being given this year throughout Arvest Bank’s four-state footprint.The Mountain Home teacher says she plans to use her prize money for supplies in the classroom to enhance the learning experience for students.

The Arvest initiative to honor educators was launched on Oct. 15th. Nominations were accepted via the Arvest Bank Facebook page.

Sally Gilbert, market president of Arvest Bank in Mountain Home, says, “Teachers at every grade level are our children’s influencers and mentors and we can never thank them enough for the investment they make in our students. Every day they face the challenge of tapping into students’ interests, and continuously engaging them, so we hope this gift will help our educators in the delivery of their classroom experience.”

This is Arvest’s first year to hold the campaign in North Central Arkansas.
