
Friday’s schedule is filled with high school football as the postseason begins in Arkansas.
Yellville-Summit will start the Class 3A State Playoffs on the road. The Panthers’ opening opponent will be Danville.
Yellville-Summit finished the regular season with a record of 4-6, and they are the fourth-seeded team from the 3A-2. The Panthers won their last two games of the year against Mountain View and Marshall, and head coach Lucas Morris says he would like to see that momentum continue as they face a tough Little John team.

Danville is the number three seed from the 3A-4. The Little Johns have a record of 7-3.
Kickoff at Little John Field is scheduled for 7 p.m.
Melbourne is also beginning the Class 3A State Playoffs on the road as they will be paired with Mansfield. The Bearkatz are the third-seeded team out of the 3A-2, and the Tigers are the number three seed from the 3A-1. Both teams are 7-3. Kickoff at Tiger Stadium is set for 7:00.
Mountain View will be one of the visiting teams as well in the Class 3A State Playoffs as they meet Prescott. The Yellowjackets are the fifth-seeded team from the 3A-2 with a record of 2-7. The Curley Wolves are 9-1, and they have the number two seed out of the 3A-5. Kickoff at Cummins Stadium is slated for 7:00.
Salem will start with home field advantage as one of the conference champions in the Class 2A State Playoffs, and their opening opponent is Dierks. The Greyhounds are 9-1, and they went unbeaten in the 2A-3 to clinch the top seed. The Outlaws have the number five seed out of the 2A-7, and their record is 3-7. Kickoff at Greyhound Stadium is scheduled for 7:00.
Harrison will begin the Class 5A State Playoffs at home as they take on White Hall. The Goblins went unbeaten in the regular season, won the 5A-West title and are currently ranked second in Class 5A by the Arkansas Sports Media. White Hall is the fourth-seeded team from the 5A-Central with a record of 5-4. Kickoff at F.S. Garrison Stadium is set for 7:00.
District play will come to an end in Missouri on Friday.
West Plains continues with home field advantage as they play for the championship of the Class 4, District 1 Playoffs. The top-seeded Zizzers will be matched up with Festus.
Ava will also be at home for the championship game of the Class 2, District 3 Playoffs. The Bears are the number one seed, and they are set to go up against Fair Grove.
After beating up on the top seed in the Class 1, District 2 Playoffs last week, Thayer will hit the road to compete for the championship. The Bobcats are scheduled to play Miller.
All games will kick off at 7:00.
