Home visit nets arrest and jail time

A compliance visit by probation and parole officers to an address on Cougar Lane led to the arrest of parolee Michael David Wood when drug paraphernalia was found in the residence.

During the compliance visit in late January, officers located multiple smoking devices and a set of digital scales.

During a session of Baxter County Circuit Court Thursday, Wood entered a guilty plea to the charges against him and was given five years in prison with two to serve and three suspended.

According to the probable cause affidavit, the 40-year-old Wood has been convicted of multiple felonies.
