Arkansas basketball hosts UT Arlington Friday night

FAYETTEVILLE – The Hardwood Classic will conclude on Friday when Arkansas hosts UT Arlington at Bud Walton Arena with tip-off set for 7 pm.

The Razorbacks, the only team that has not lost a game in the Showcase, and Mavericks have met on seven previous occasions with Arkansas winning on each occasion. Arkansas is 5-0 versus UTA in games played in Fayetteville. The two squads last met on Nov. 18, 2016. The Razorbacks needed a 20-2 run to start the second half and held on for a 71-67 victory.

-In other games of the Hardwood Classic, Indiana hosts UC Davis Friday. The Hoosiers are 2-1, UC Davis is 0-2 and UTA is 1-1. UTA defeated UC Davis, 68-59, in the Hardwood Classic and is coming off a 78-64 loss at Indiana on Tuesday.
-Daniel Gafford has made 20 of his 23 shots from the field over the last two games and currently ranks sixth in the NCAA in field goal percentage (.756).
-Jalen Harris is coming off his first career double-double, scoring 11 points and dishing out 11 assists. He only had one turnover. Over the last two games, Arkansas’ leader in assists have combined for 18 assists and just one turnover. Mason Jones had seven assists and no turnovers versus Indiana.
-Jalen Harris ranks 25th in the NCAA and second in SEC in assist-to-turnover ratio (4.6).
– Arkansas ranks 31st in the NCAA and second in the SEC in assists (17.8 avg.).
-The Razorbacks have relied on their defense to early success. Arkansas ranks sixth nationally in turnovers forced (20.0 avg.), 22nd in the NCAA in field goal percentage defense (.363) and 30th in steals (9.3 avg.)
