Arkansas State wraps up the regular season Saturday with a possible trip to the inaugural Sun Belt Conference championship game on the line. The Red Wolves will be in San Marcos to take on Texas State.
A-State is currently 7-4 on the season and 4-3 in the Sun Belt after last week’s win over Louisiana-Monroe. The Red Wolves are in a three-way tie for first place in the Sun Belt’s Western Division with ULM and Louisiana-Lafayette. Arkansas State will advance to the title game if they win and if the Warhawks beat the Ragin’ Cajuns.
Texas State is 3-8 and 1-6 following a five-point loss at Troy last Saturday. Defensive coordinator Chris Woods is serving as the Bobcats’ interim head coach for this matchup. Everett Withers was fired by the university on Sunday.
Kickoff at Bobcat Stadium is scheduled for 3 p.m. Saturday’s game can be heard on Classic Hits 101.7 and streaming live at ktlo.com. The broadcast begins at 1:00 with the Midsouth Ford Dealers Tailgate Show.
