Credit: Doltyn SneddenLynyrd Skynyrd will down its current U.S. leg of its Last of the Street Survivors Farewell Tour with a New Year’s Eve concert in Thackerville, Oklahoma, but the Southern rock legends have now extended the trek well into 2019.
The band has lined up a series of Canadian shows in March, and also will visit mainland Europe and the U.K. in June. The Canadian outing kicks off March 2 in Ottawa and is mapped out through a March 15 concert in Abbotsford, British Columbia. The European trek begins June 17 in Erfurt, Germany, and wraps up on June 30 in Birmingham, U.K.
Meanwhile, as previously reported, Lynyrd Skynyrd will play a special gig on January 8 that will be part of the 2019 Southern Rock Cruise. The cruise, which runs from January 6 to January 12, sails out of Tampa, Florida, and will visit Cozumel, Mexico, and Progreso, Mexico. In addition, the Rock & Roll Hall of Famers will perform on the second day of the 13th annual Stagecoach Festival, scheduled for April 26-28 at the Empire Polo Club in Indio, California.
On a recent episode of the AXS TV series The Big Interview, founding guitarist Gary Rossington told host Dan Rather that that Lynyrd Skynyrd’s farewell tour, which launched in May, might take a few years to complete.
