MHHS girls begin tournament action at Fair Grove

Basketball makes up the local Monday schedule as the Mountain Home High School girls will play the first of their three in-season tournaments. The Lady Bombers will be across the state line to compete in the 38th-annual Fair Grove Girls’ Basketball Invitational Tournament, and their opening opponent will be Buffalo.
Mountain Home comes into the tournament with a record of 1-0. The Lady Bombers began their season nearly two weeks ago in Searcy with a 25-point victory over Riverview.
Tip-off is scheduled for 6:30. Monday’s game can be heard on Classic Hits 101.7 and streaming live at ktlo.com.

Marshall’s boys will be in Scranton for their first game in the Logan County Bank Classic. The Bobcats will be paired with Ozark in the first round.

Omaha will begin hosting the Equity Bank Bev Stone Border Classic on Monday. In girls’ action, Lead Hill and Green Forest get underway at 4 p.m., and Western Grove meets Kingston at 6:30. On the boys’ bracket, Lead Hill faces Kingston at 5:15, and Western Grove takes on Green Forest at 7:45.

In other high school basketball, Gainesville’s girls travel to Willow Springs, and the Salem girls make the trip to Imboden to play Sloan-Hendrix.

Mountain Home’s three junior high boys’ teams will be on the road as they go up against Bergman. The seventh grade game tips off at 4:30 followed by the eighth grade and freshmen contests.

Also on the junior high level, Cotter hosts Mammoth Spring.
