Before 2018 comes to an end, the citizens of Mountain Home will have one more opportunity to go to the voting booth. Mountain Home mayoral candidates Nancy Osmon and Hillrey Adams will compete in a runoff election on Dec. 4th, after neither candidate was able to secure over 50 percent of the vote in the general election earlier this month.

Mountain Home registered voters will be able to cast their ballot prior to Election Day. Early voting will be Tuesday through Friday and next Monday from 8:00 to 4:30 each day. The Baxter County Courthouse will be the lone polling location for early voting.

For Election Day next Tuesday, Baxter County and Circuit Clerk Canda Reese says three vote centers will be open.

In the election on Nov. 6th, Adams and Osmon were the top two vote-getters in a three-person race. Forty-six percent of the Mountain Home residents who cast a ballot voted for Adams, and Osmon received 36 percent. The other 18 percent went to Dave Almond. Adams and Osmon are looking to succeed current Mountain Home Mayor Joe Dillard who decided not to seek re-election.

Anyone with questions about the runoff election may contact the Baxter County Clerk’s Office at 870-425-3475.
