Head over Heels features Go-Go’s hits like the title track, “We Got the Beat,” “Vacation,” “Our Lips Are Sealed” and “Turn to You,” as well as two solo hits by frontwoman Belinda Carlisle: “Heaven Is a Place on Earth” and “Mad About You.” The plot is a little unusual, though: It takes place in the 16th century and concerns a royal family that’s trying to save its kingdom.
The musical began previews on June 23 and officially opened on July 26. When it closes, it will have played 188 regular performances. A U.S. tour and regional productions are being planned, while stock and amateur productions can start next year.
