RhinoThe Monkees recently released their first-ever holiday album, Christmas Party, and now the band has debuted a new animated lyrics video for the record’s lead track, “Unwrap You at Christmas.”

The clip features cartoon depictions of The Monkees as they looked during their famous 1960s TV show, while taking the form of a comic book, with many of the panels showing the band members involved in various forms of holiday fun.

The video boasts artwork by popular comics artist Michael Allred, who also created the Christmas Party album cover. The clip includes a variety of images that should be familiar to fans of The Monkees series. The track used in the video is a special “single mix” of “Unwrap You at Christmas,” which got its release Wednesday on digital and streaming services.

“Unwrap You at Christmas” is sung by Micky Dolenz and is an original tune penned by XTC frontman Andy Partridge. Dolenz handles lead vocals on eight of the album’s 13 tracks, while Michael Nesmith sings two songs and Peter Tork one. In addition, Christmas Party features the late Davy Jones on a pair of tunes, renditions of “Silver Bells” and “Mele Kalikimaka,” which utilize 1991 vocal tracks combined with newly recorded instrumentation.

Christmas Party  also includes songwriting contributions from R.E.M. guitarist Peter Buck, Weezer‘s Rivers Cuomo and Fountains of Wayne‘s Adam Schlesinger, who served as the record’s producer. In addition, Christmas Party features covers of Paul McCartney‘s “Wonderful Christmastime, Big Star‘s “Jesus Christ” and Wizzard‘s 1973 yuletide gem, “I Wish It Could Be Christmas Everyday.”
