WWE superstar Kevin Owens was in the concert venue in Orlando Tuesday night when word came that the show had to be canceled. He responded by tweeting, “Hey, @eltonofficial, nobody ruins my wife and I’s date night except me! You, me…WrestleMania. I’ve fought men in their 70’s before, I can do it again!”

Along with that tweet, Owens posted a photo of himself waiting in the audience wearing a pair of light-up, heart-shaped glasses, similar to the wacky specs that Elton often wears.

He added, “The last time I wore red heart-shaped glasses for another man before tonight was on January 12, 1996 at the Montreal Forum. I was 11 years old. It was for Shawn Michaels! I’m never wearing red heart-shaped glasses for another man again!”

Michaels is a wrestling legend considered one of the greatest performers ever.

Despite Owens’ desire to get in the ring with Elton, he’s currently on the DL after undergoing double knee surgery himself. Elton has now rescheduled that show for March 18, 2019, so perhaps Owens will be satisfied by going to that.

Elton wrote, “I absolutely hate letting my fans down and it was an incredibly hard decision…I promise I will be back to make it up to you and apologize for all the inconvenience. Thank you for all your patience and support.”
