Stephanie J. Block, who plays one of three incarnations of Cher in the musical, introduced the star by saying, “None of us would be here without this singular person. She is everything and she is courageous to put her life up here. And she is genius and she is fabulous and I cannot believe I get to say this: Ladies and gentleman…Cher!”

As the audience cheered, the ageless star joined Block and the cast onstage for a rendition of “If I Could Turn Back Time.” Block was so overcome at the prospect of singing with Cher that she blurted out “Holy s***!” in the middle of the song.

Among the celebrities who attended the premiere were Kim Kardashian West and her husband, Kanye West. Kim considers Cher one of her idols.  “I’ve always loved her attitude and how strong she is and how independent she is and she’s always been just really cool and someone that I’ve always looked up to,” she said at the premiere’s red carpet.

As previously reported, one of the show’s stars called out Kanye on Twitter for being on his phone during the show.

TMZ reported that Kanye was simply taking notes because he was so enamored of the production. The rapper apologized, writing, “The dynamics of Cher and Sonny [Bono]’s relationship made Kim and I grab each other’s hand and sing ‘I got you babe’ please pardon my lack of etiquette. We have so much appreciation for the energy you guys put into making this master piece.”
