Several local basketball teams in action Tuesday

Basketball makes up the local Tuesday schedule as tournaments continue for area teams.

Gainesville’s boys will play their first game in the 82nd-annual Mansfield Invitational Basketball Tournament. The Bulldogs will be paired with Ava at 7:30.

The second-annual Battle of the Border Tournament continues at Mammoth Spring. In girls’ action, Thayer and Koshkonong tip off at 4 p.m., and Calico Rock meets Eminence at 7:00. On the boys’ side, Calico Rock faces Koshkonong at 5:30, and Mammoth Spring takes on Couch at 8:30.

Elsewhere, Cotter travels to Brockwell to meet Izard County, Norfork makes the trip to Viola, Yellville-Summit hosts Eureka Springs, Bruno-Pyatt entertains St. Joe, Dora is home against Bradleyville, the Melbourne boys head to Imboden to play Sloan-Hendrix, Marshall travels to Mountain View, Timbo makes the short trip to Fox to face Rural Special, Lead Hill hosts Western Grove, Valley Springs entertains Green Forest, and Jasper heads to Deer.

Five of Mountain Home’s junior high squads will play at Wynne Tuesday evening. The eighth grade boys will start action in the new gym followed by both freshmen contests, and both seventh grade games will be held in the auxiliary blue gym. Both sets of games start at 5:00.
