Aretha Franklin to be saluted by Smokey Robinson, Gladys Knight & others on ABC's “The Year in Memoriam 2018”

Courtesy of ABC NewsAretha Franklin is among the late celebrities who will be saluted on ABC’s upcoming special The Year in Memoriam 2018, which airs December 17 at 10 p.m. ET.

Hosted by Good Morning America‘s Robin Roberts and late-night talk-show host Jimmy Kimmel, the program will honor the stars we lost this year, including the Queen of Soul. Aretha’s segment will feature a number of music stars sharing stories about about the legendary singer, including Smokey Robinson, Gladys Knight, Patti LaBelle and Kelly Clarkson. Franklin died August 16 at age 76 of pancreatic cancer.

The special will also remember acting legend Burt Reynolds, scientist Stephen Hawking, Marvel Comics icon Stan Lee, Sen. John McCain and former first lady Barbara Bush.
