The Mountain Home High School basketball teams had mixed results for the second consecutive day in the Cabot Pre-Holiday Classic.

The Lady Bombers advanced to the title game after squeaking out a 37-34 win Friday over Beebe. Mountain Home had built a double digit lead by the end of the first half, but the Lady Badgers made a comeback and cut the margin to a deuce to end the third quarter. Beebe tied the game early in the final period, but they were never able to claim the lead. The Lady Bombers were up by a point in the final seconds of the game when Marianna Richey attempted to give the Lady Badgers the lead, but her shot came up short, and Anna Grace Foreman was fouled on the rebound with 1/10 of a second remaining. Foreman sank both of her free throws, and Mountain Home secured the three-point win.
Foreman led the Lady Bombers with 12 points, and Payton Huskey added 11. For Beebe, Richey and Kyia Jackson scored 11 points each.
Mountain Home improves to 4-2 on the season, and they’ll meet Cabot for the championship Saturday evening.

The Bombers were eliminated from the boys’ bracket after Little Rock Catholic came from behind to get the 34-31 victory. Mountain Home was able to hold the Rockets to just seven first half points as they went into the locker room up a dozen. The margin was cut to seven by the end of the third quarter. Catholic exploded for 21 points in the final period, and with 2:20 left, they took their first lead since 1-0. The Rockets were up three with 6/10 of a second as the Bombers tried one last shot at the buzzer, but they couldn’t get it to go.
Mountain Home was led by Wyatt Gilbert with ten points. Parker Lloyd finished with 12 points for Catholic.
The Bombers drop to 2-4 on the year, and they’ll play their home opener Tuesday against Bentonville West.
