Basketball makes up much of the local Wednesday schedule as a few tournaments will have makeup games following Saturday’s threat of winter weather.
The Battle of the Border Tournament will come to an end at Mammoth Spring. In the third place games, Gainesville’s girls meet Eminence at 3:30, and the Calico Rock boys face Sloan-Hendrix at 4:45. Mammoth Spring will play in both championship games as the Lady Bears take on Thayer at 6:00, and Mammoth Spring’s boys play Mountain View-Liberty at 7:15.
Both of Melbourne’s teams will wrap up action in the Mark Martin Automotive/Lyon College High School Tournament at Batesville. The Bearkatz will play for third place on the boys’ side against Highland at 5:15, and Melbourne’s girls will be paired with Mountain View for the championship at 7:00.
Mountain Home’s freshmen girls will play their first game in the Cave City Tournament as they meet the host Junior Cavewomen. Gametime is slated for 4:45.
