JONESBORO, Ark. (AP) – Prosecutors say they won’t file criminal charges against
a former Arkansas State University chancellor who resigned two years ago.
Former Chancellor Tim Hudson stepped down after an internal audit criticized
the university’s study-abroad program, which was run at the time by Hudson’s
wife. The audit also questioned some of Hudson’s travel expenses.
Prosecutor Scott Ellington said Monday the case was brought to a grand jury, which did not find enough evidence for criminal charges. Ellington says the case is now considered closed.
Hudson immediately resigned from the chancellor position, which paid $360,000
per year. He was later hired at Austin Peay University in Tennessee.
