Mert Alas and Marcus PiggotHey, all you stars who pose semi-nude selfies: Madonna‘s just raised the bar.

On Instagram, the Queen of Pop posted an arty photo of herself at age 19, completely naked, with the words “Rebel Heart” — the name of her most recent album — partially obscuring her breasts.

“I am 19. Living in NYC. A student at Martha Graham School of Dance,” Madonna writes in the caption. “I modeled For Art Schools around the city to pay the rent. Painting, Drawing and Photography classes. Many of these photos were sold to Playboy and Penthouse when I became famous.”

“The Photographers Exploited Me and then the Patriarchy tried to Shame me for Being Naked,” she continues. “I told the Press ‘i Was Not Ashamed’ and this became headline news. And this turned into A collaboration between Warhol and Haring!”

Madonna is referring to Untitled, a painting by the late, legendary artists Keith Haring and Andy Warhol. It’s a pop-art reworking of the front page of the New York Post with the headline, “Madonna: ‘I’m Not Ashamed’ — Rock Star Shrugs Off Nude Pix Furor.”

“I am the proud owner of 4 of these paintings. Given to me later. as a wedding gift,” Madonna concludes. “You cannot stop Art by trying to Shame it. Creation always wins.”

Along a similar theme, on her Instagram story, Madonna’s posted a quote from author Kurt Vonnegut, which says, in part, “The arts…are a very human way of making life more bearable…practicing an art, no matter how well or how badly, is a way to make your soul grow…do it as well as you possibly can. You will get an enormous reward. You will have created something.”
