The spacy instrumental tune, which showcases Krieger’s trademark slide guitar playing, can be purchased now digitally at CD Baby, and will soon be available from various other online music sellers and via streaming services.

The 72-year-old Rock & Roll Hall of Famer is accompanied on the track by longtime Frank Zappa collaborator Arthur Barrow on bass and synthesizer, Adrienne “AeB” Byrne on flute and veteran percussionist Brad Dutz.

Barrow also is a longtime member of Robby’s side group Robby Krieger’s Jam Kitchen, and Krieger told ABC Radio earlier this year that he was planning to title the new album after the group, although the record’s name has yet to be officially confirmed. The album is due out in 2019.

Krieger’s also released a video to accompany “Slide Home.” The clip features scenes of Robby performing the tune along with Byrne and Barrow, interspersed with footage from Major League Baseball games of players sliding into home plate. Segments of the video are enhanced with psychedelic colors and kaleidoscopic effects. You can watch the clip now at Krieger’s official YouTube channel.

In other news, Krieger currently has three confirmed 2019 concerts in Southern California next month with his Robby Krieger Band, which features his son Waylon on lead vocals. Here are all of the dates:

1/18 — Hermosa Beach, CA, Saint Rocke
1/19 — San Juan Capistrano, CA, Coach House Concert Hall
1/31 — San Diego, CA, House of Blues San Diego
