First Arkansas Bail Bonds Tournament resumes Friday in MH

Friday marks another busy day of high school basketball as the First Arkansas Bail Bonds Tournament continues at Mountain Home, and both of the host teams will compete in the semifinals.
Mountain Home will be paired with Hamburg on the boys’ side. The Bombers are 3-7 on the season after beating Mountain Home Christian Academy Thursday in the opening round. The Lions started the tournament with a ten-point win over Brinkley. Tip-off is scheduled for 7 p.m.
In the other boys’ games, Cave City and Paragould get underway at 10 a.m., Mountain Home Christian Academy meets Brinkley at 1:00, and Farmington faces Clarendon at 4:00.
The Mountain Home girls’ semifinal opponent will be Watson Chapel. The Lady Bombers defeated Hermitage in the first round to improve to 7-4. The Lady Wildcats squeaked out a one-point victory over Wonderview. Gametime is set for 8:30.
In earlier girls’ action, Highland takes on Farmington at 11:30, Wonderview plays Hermitage at 2:30, and Norfork meets Paragould at 5:30.

Two local boys’ teams will resume action in the Cabool Holiday Tournament. Gainesville faces Alton in the consolation semifinals at 10:30, and Dora will be matched up with Eminence at 4:30 in the semifinals.

Dora’s girls will compete in the consolation semifinals of the Mountain Grove Holiday Tournament. The Lady Falcons take on Houston at 10:30.

The Mammoth Spring boys will play for the Division I championship of the NEA Invitational Basketball Tournament in Jonesboro. The Bears will play Ridgefield Christian at 1:30 at First National Bank Arena on the campus of Arkansas State University.

Calico Rock’s boys will take part in the semifinals of the Greers Ferry Lake Classic at Shirley. The Pirates will go up against Mount Vernon-Enola at 5:15.

Two area boys’ teams will be back in Highland to continue the Bad Boy Mowers Ronnie Brogdon Classic. Melbourne meets Har-Ber for seventh place at 4:30, and Izard County faces Conway in the semifinals at 7:30.
