A boil water order has been issued for Compton Waterworks by the Arkansas Department of Health. According to the Newton County Times, the order was issued Wednesday morning for the entire Newton County system following a main break.
All water customers in the impacted area need to boil water used for cooking or consumption briskly for three to five minutes.
The boil water order will be in effect until water samples tested by the state are deemed good.
