Volunteer campground hosts are being sought for the Buffalo National River for 2019. Applications are being accepted by the National Park Service for hosts at at Steel Creek, Kyles Landing, Ozark, Tyler Bend and Buffalo Point campgrounds.
Hosts will assist National Park Service personnel in welcoming visitors, providing park information, ensuring camper registration and payment of fees, promoting the use of “Leave No Trace Outdoor Ethics,” maintaining campground facilities and reporting issues requiring medical attention. Volunteers will be able to enhance visitor experiences while performing meaningful work in an effort to protect the river and its resources..
Campground hosts traditionally live on-site in their RVs or campers and serve for at least 90 days during the camping season of March 15th through November 15th. Host campsites include water and electric hookups, and most also include sewer.
Anyone interested in becoming a host at a Buffalo National River campground is encouraged to apply at volunteer.gov. The application period will remain open until the positions are filled for 2019.
