Winter weather is in the forecast for the Twin Lakes Area from Friday morning through Saturday afternoon although it’s quite a mixed bag. Due to slight differences in the temperature, Northern Arkansas will see light accumulations of snow and sleet while Southern Missouri could see quite a bit more. There is a winter storm warning for Howell and Douglas counties and a winter weather advisory for Ozark and Taney counties in southern Missouri through midnight Saturday night.
Rain and some light freezing rain will continue through the day across the entire area. There could be some travel impacts with the temperatures hovering right around the freezing mark.
Willie Gilmore with the National Weather Service in North Little Rock says after the rain throughout the day Friday, Northern Arkansas can expect all kinds of wintry precipitation Friday night.

In Southern Missouri, the temperature will be a few degrees cooler, which means more snow, according to Jeff Raberding with the National Weather Service in Springfield.

If you have travel plans, central and eastern Missouri and into Illinois could see upwards to 10-12 inches of snow.
