BULL SHOALS, Ark. (AP)   The owners of 900 acres of property along Bull Shoals Lake have signed a contract with a local trust to preserve the land.

The Arkansas Democrat-Gazette reports that land owners Gerald and Dwan Garrison have signed a permanent conservation easement with the Northwest Arkansas Land Trust to protect the land along Bull Shoals Lake.

Trust spokeswoman Lauren Embree says it’s the largest tract of land the trust is protecting.

Dwan Garrison says they wanted to protect Thunder Ridge Ranch East as development increases in the surrounding area.

The land trust says the Ozark Mountains property contains forest, bluffs, springs, streams and glades. The agreement allows the Garrison’s children to build four more buildings on the property, but restricts where the buildings can be located.
