A Searcy County teen, Dylan Wilson of Leslie, has been arrested and charged with multiple counts of commercial burglary and theft of property.

Searcy County Sheriff Kenny Cassell says the 19-year-old was developed as a suspect in several commercial burglaries and theft cases in Marshall going back to late 2018, but was not identified until March.

Cassell said Wilson was arrested Wednesday when he came to the Searcy County Detention Center for a visit with his probation officer. When he arrived, he was met and interviewed by deputies.

During the interview, Wilson allegedly admitted to entering Roten’s Furniture twice with the intention of committing theft. While inside, he took money he later spent on drug paraphernalia and other merchandise. Wilson also reportedly admitted unlawfully entering Daniel’s Hardware, where he took firearms and other property.

Following the interview, Wilson was arrested, jailed and charged with being an habitual offender, three counts of commercial burglary, four counts of theft of property involving firearms and two counts of misdemeanor theft of property.

Wilson is on probation for after being convicted of unrelated felony crimes.

Cassell says no bail amount or court date has been set.
