The works of two Pinkston Middle School students have received honors at the state level in the 2018-2019 Arkansas State Elks Americanism Essay Contest.
Sixth grade winners were Ella Hilvert, who took first in the state and won $200, and Rylee Crecelius, who was third at the state level and received $100.
Their essays were chosen from over 270 locally and submitted for the statewide competition. Hilvert’s essay will go on to compete for national honors.
This is the fifth consecutive year Pinkston Middle School students have won the state contest.
Local winners of the essay contest were honored during an awards assembly at Pinkston Middle School.
