A team of fourth and fifth grade students from Hackler Intermediate School in Mountain Home has qualified for the Global Finals of the Destination Imagination competition to be held next month in Kansas City.

This will be the first year for students from Mountain Home to participate in the Destination Imagination Global Finals after the team, coached by Lee-Ann Whitlock and Reagan Leslie, won second place at the Arkansas State Finals in Bryant.  Destination Imagination is an educational program aimed at developing 21st century skills and STEM principles through participating in team-based problem solving challenges. They are funded by donations from large tech companies like IBM and Oracle, aiming to foster creative and cooperative problem solving techniques identified as important for jobs in the future.
