Eight people were injured in a two-vehicle accident Tuesday morning just north of Mountain Home on State Highway 201 North. The eight were all transported to Baxter Regional Medical Center for treatment.  A hospital spokesperson says one was transferred to another location, and the other seven are still being treated at BRMC.

Seven of the eight were in one vehicle, a van belonging to Care Center Ministries in Mountain Home. A spokesperson for Care Center says a leader was driving the van with six other residents on board, and they were headed to their first job of the day.

Arkansas State Police Trooper First Class Lance Coffman told KTLO, Classic Hits and The Boot news the accident happened when the van crossed the centerline and struck another vehicle head-on.

The accident happened at 8:28 Tuesday morning just north of the Humane Society of North Central Arkansas on Highway 201 North.

No names have been released.
