
ABC/Richard CartwrightA very special guest will be visiting The Who‘s recently announced pop-up shop, The Who @52, when the store opens in London’s Soho neighborhood this Friday, June 14. Roger Daltrey himself will be on hand to do a Q&A at 12 p.m. local time, or 7 a.m. ET.
The Who frontman will be chatting about the 50th anniversary of the band’s classic rock opera Tommy, and about his new The Who’s Tommy Orchestral live album, which will be released that day. Fans can submit questions for Daltrey via The Who’s official Facebook page, Twitter feed and Instagram.
As previously reported, The Who @52 shop will be open for just two days, June 14 and 15, from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. local time. Among the items that will be available at the store” an exclusive blue-vinyl seven-inch single featuring The Who’s original 1969 rendition of “Pinball Wizard” on one side and a 2018 performance of the tune by Roger taken from The Who’s Tommy Orchestral album on the other.
The store is also selling CD and vinyl copies of The Who’s Tommy Orchestral, inducing a limited number signed by Daltrey, plus a variety of official Who merchandise.
The shop also has an exhibition of rare and archival band memorabilia, including a retro Tommy pinball machine. Special deals on tickets to The Who’s July 6 concert at London’s Wembley Stadium show will also be available.
The Who’s Tommy Orchestral album features a full symphonic performance of the rock opera recorded during Daltrey’s 2018 tour. On the trek, he was accompanied by a different orchestra at each venue and a backing band that included members of The Who’s touring group.
