
Both Mountain Home American Legion baseball teams picked up wins on the opening day of the Mickey Huskey Twin Lakes Classic at Cooper Park.
The Lockeroom capped the night with a 9-1 victory over Manchester, Missouri. Jim Strider led the way on the mound by striking out 10 and allowing just four hits.
At the plate, Caleb Johnson went two for four and drove in four runs.
The Mountain Home MacLeod legion team picked up an 11-1 win over Harrison in the first game of the day. Andrew Cantway was the winning pitcher, striking out seven while allowing just two hits.
Offensively, Cantway, Keegan Rickman and Carter Graves each had two hits.
In the other games, Paragould got past Charleston, Missouri, 7-6 and Pontotoc, Mississippi, blasted Batesville 9-1.
