Sheriff: Lakeview man jailed for 17th time

A Lakeview man has been booked into the Baxter County Detention Center for the 17th time since 1997.Baxter County Sheriff John Montgomery says 54-year-old David L. Wayland was arrested Monday morning when officers served a search warrant at a residence along Michael Lane in Lakeview. The warrant was obtained based on evidence of drug activity at the Lakeview residence.Wayland was found during the service of the warrant, along with approximately 4.75 grams of methamphetamine, digital scales and numerous smoking devices. He was arrested without incident.

Wayland has been charged with felony counts of possession of methamphetamine with purpose to deliver and two counts of possession of drug paraphernalia, along with a penalty enhancement as a habitual offender.

His bond was set at $15,000, and he is set to appear in circuit court later this month.

Agencies participating in the search and arrest were the Baxter County Sheriff’s Office, Lakeview Police Department, 14th Judicial District Drug Task Force and the Mountain Home Police Department.
