After a night off Thursday, the St. Louis Cardinals return to action Friday night as they begin a nine-game road trip in San Diego.
The Cardinals are in third place in the National League Central, three games behind the Cubs.
Micheal Wacha (5-3) starts for St. Louis Friday night while the Padres counter with Eric Lauer (5-7).
