A Mountain Home teenager is accused of selling drugs to a pair of juveniles. Eighteen-year-old Carter Pyle was arrested Tuesday evening on charges of possession of a controlled substance with the purpose of delivery and distribution near certain facilities.

A Mountain Home Police officer and a Baxter County Juvenile Services officer responded to a local apartment. Upon arrival, the juvenile services officer said a 14-year-old male teen had drug paraphernalia in his room.

The juvenile officer left with the items, but before he returned to his office, he received another call of two other young boys hiding in the apartment. The juvenile services officer returned and located the two boys hiding in the room, and one 14-year-old male had a backpack with a pipe inside.

The boys were going to be cited for possession of drug paraphernalia and released to their parents, but as authorities were about to leave, they were advised of someone else hiding under another bed in the apartment. A white male was found lying under the bed with a backpack beside him.

The male, later identified as Pyle, came out from under the bed and reportedly said he had some weed in the bag. The Mountain Home officer said he located a large bag and a smaller zip lock bag in the backpack, and both contained a green leafy substance with the appearance and odor of marijuana.

Pyle was taken into custody and transported to the Mountain Home Police Department where he refused to cooperate with authorities. A Baxter County Sheriff’s investigator went to the apartment to speak with one of the 14-year-olds with his mother’s permission, but the teen was unwilling to cooperate and was released to juvenile services.

Pyle was released from the Baxter County Detention Center Thursday evening after posting a bond of $25,000.
