
A call to the Fulton County Sheriff’s Office reporting a dog had been shot has led to the arrest of 56-year-old John Bennett on multiple weapon possession charges. Court documents do not list Bennett’s address or where the alleged incident occurred.
According to the probable cause affidavit, when the officer responded to the call June 12, it was allegedly confirmed the animal had been shot.
A check of state and national crime information center databases indicated Bennett is a convicted felon and prohibited from possessing firearms.
A search of his residence reportedly revealed several loaded firearms in Bennett’s bedroom.
He had been charged with four felony counts of possession of a firearm by certain persons, with bond set at $5,000.
