
The driver of a vehicle that left the roadway, striking a ditch and several trees before coming to a stop fled the scene Saturday afternoon.
According to a report at the Baxter County Sheriff’s Office, the one-vehicle accident occurred on Jordan Landing Road at 3:37.
The vehicle was reportedly traveling west when it left the roadway after failing to negotiate a curve 1 mile down the road.
The driver was an unknown male, identified by a passenger, 53-year-old Charles Heathcoat of Calico Rock, as “James.” Heathcoat is also listed as the owner of the vehicle.
The report notes a possible injury to the unknown driver. Heathcoat received a non-incapacitating injury. There is no reference to him seeking medical attention.
Damage estimate to the truck was listed at $15,000.
