COLUMBIA, Mo. (AP) – Missouri Gov. Mike Parson and other passengers are safe after a problem with the governor’s plane caused the pilot to turn around mid-trip.
Missouri Highway Patrol spokesman Capt. John Hotz says pilots noticed the
plane’s rudder boost system wasn’t working properly during Parson’s Friday
flight to Kansas City. The pilot then returned to Columbia Regional Airport and landed without incident.
Hotz says the safety of the flight “was never in question. He says the plane will need to be fixed before it’s flown again.
Parson cancelled his scheduled visit to Park University because of the problem. He says he hopes to reschedule.
