A man accused of stealing a car with a nine-year-old child inside from a West Plains gas station has been taken into custody. According to Douglas County Sheriff Chris Degase, authorities from his office and the Howell County Sheriff’s Office arrested Brad Davis Sunday evening in Howell County.
Sheriff Degase had posted on Facebook Davis allegedly stole the car Saturday. He later stopped the vehicle long enough for the child to escape out the back door.
Davis is also alleged to have stolen an all-terrain vehicle (ATV) in the Vanzant area. Sheriff Degase says the ATV was recovered when Davis was arrested.
Davis, whose age and address were not given, has warrants from Howell, Wright and Texas counties.
