ASUMH ranked 2nd best community college in U.S.

For the second consecutive year, Arkansas State University-Mountain Home remains among the top community colleges in the country. After last year’s number one ranking, the local university is ranked second in Wallethub’s list of the best community colleges in the United States. The top spot for 2019 went to the State Technical College of Missouri in Linn. Southern Arkansas University Tech in Camden was third.

ASU-Mountain Home Chancellor Dr. Robin Myers says it’s a sense of pride to again be recognized as one of the top community colleges in the United States.

The financial website’s study factored in three key dimensions. Out of all of the community colleges across the nation, ASU-Mountain Home was ranked 20th in education outcomes, 56th in career outcomes and 84th in cost and financing. Dr. Myers says it’s always been the goal of the university to provide an accessible, low-cost quality education for its students.

Wallethub also ranked three other community colleges in the area. North Arkansas College in Harrison and Ozarka College headquartered in Melbourne were 45th and 46th respectively, and Missouri State University-West Plains was 389th.
